Mercy St Vincent Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency is proud to announce the return of the annual Midwest MedWAR at Pinckney Recreation Area. The Midwest MedWAR is always a competitive and exciting race full of exploration, medical challenges, and oh so many plot twists. This year we are excited to be back for the 20th annual race and we promise it won't disappoint!

Format: this is a map and compass based race with multiple stations that test your wilderness medicine and survival skills. There is an optional orienteering section as a bonus. Includes basic survival skills and wilderness skills. Water elements and hiking involved.

The next Pennsylvania MedWAR will be held on
Sunday, September 9th, 2023 in Danville, Pennsylvania

 The course will take place along the trails, forests, and waterways of the Susquehanna River Valley surrounding the picturesque town of Danville, PA, home of Geisinger Medical Center. Unassisted teams of three will compete in skills stations along an open circuit course. Fastest teams will complete as many of the tasks before time cut-off runs out. Scenarios will span a wide range of topics including rescue, improvisation, triage, acute care, and survival techniques. Racing is open to health-care providers, students, pre-hospital providers and other wilderness medicine enthusiasts! Plan for a day full of exciting challenges (both physical and mental), food, drinks, fun, and awards!
