8:00 AM     Racer Check-In Opens and Volunteers Report

9:15 AM     Racer Check-In Closes

9:00 AM     Volunteer Meeting & transport to stations

9:30 AM     Team Captain's Meeting (Required)

10:00 AM   RACE BEGINS!

3:00  PM     RACE FINISH!

3:00 - 5:00  PM     Post-race Celebration and Awards

Required Individual Equipment

  • Dry change of clothes and rain gear

  • Whistle

  • Light source with extra batteries

  • Food, water, and the ability to carry 2 liters

  • A sense of adventure

Required Team Equipment

  • Mountain bike with cycling helmet and spare bike inner tube*

  • Three-person canoe, 2 paddles, 3 pfds

  • Orienteering compass

  • Fire starting supplies e.g. matches, flint

  • Waterproofing method and ink pen for map and passbook

  • Wilderness medical and survival kit

* Optional: tire pump and patch kit (strongly recommended).

GPS units, cell phones, PDAs, and other communication devices prohibited. You may carry a cell phone for emergencies or to take photos, but we are not responsible if it gets wet. All non-authorized forms of transportation prohibited. See racer packet for details about prohibited items and complete gear list.

Rentals

We are arranging mountain bike and canoe rentals with a local co-op, however you are welcome (and encouraged) to bring your own. Please indicate if you need a rental in registration or contact us.
